Sharing Content to LinkedIn - Ambo Docs
Share posts to LinkedIn immediately or on a schedule and customize your content when your admin allows it.
Sharing a post sends it to your LinkedIn profile using the content your admin prepared. You can post immediately or queue it for a later time. If your admin has enabled overrides, you can also edit the content before it goes out.
Prerequisite: Your LinkedIn account must be connected before you can share. Go to Advocate Settings if you haven’t done this yet.
Opening a post to share
Go to Posts and open any post in the New tab. If a post has multiple variations, you’ll see the one targeted at you or your subscribed channels.
Click Share to begin.
Share now vs schedule
Share now Ambo submits the post to LinkedIn immediately. A confirmation appears once the share is queued for processing. The post moves to your Shared tab after LinkedIn confirms it.
Schedule Pick a date and time. Ambo posts to LinkedIn automatically at that time. The post moves to your Scheduled tab until the scheduled time passes.
To cancel a scheduled share, go to the Scheduled tab, open the share, and click Cancel.
Customizing your post
If your admin has enabled post overrides for a post, you’ll see editable fields before you share. If they haven’t, the content is fixed and you’ll share it as written.
When overrides are available, you can change:
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Content | The main text of your LinkedIn post. |
| Comment | A first comment added to your post immediately after sharing. Often used for the article URL or a personal note. |
| Media | The image or video attached to the post. You can swap it for a different file. |
Edit what you want, then choose to share now or schedule.
What gets posted to LinkedIn
- The content body becomes your LinkedIn post text.
- The comment, if set, is posted as the first comment on your LinkedIn post right after it goes live.
- Media appears as an attachment on the post.
- The URL from the original post is included in the LinkedIn post.
Viewing your share history
The Shared tab shows all posts you’ve previously shared. Click any entry to see the exact variation that was posted, including any edits you made before sharing.
If a share fails
Check the post’s status in your feed.
| Status | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| FAILED | A general error occurred when posting to LinkedIn. | Try sharing the post again. If it keeps failing, contact your admin. |
