Advocate Settings and Notifications - Ambo Docs

Manage your LinkedIn connection, channel subscriptions, notification preferences, and push notification settings.

Your personal settings in Ambo control which content you see, how you’re notified, and how your LinkedIn account is connected. Go to Settings to access all of these.

LinkedIn account

Go to Settings → LinkedIn.

Click Connect LinkedIn to authorize Ambo. You’ll be redirected to LinkedIn to approve the connection. Ambo requests permission to post on your behalf. This is required to share content.

Disconnecting: Click Disconnect to remove the connection. Your sharing history is not affected, but you won’t be able to share new posts until you reconnect.

Channel subscriptions

Go to Settings → Channels and select the channels you want to follow.

Posts targeted at your subscribed channels appear in your feed. Posts from channels you haven’t joined won’t appear.

Unsubscribing from a channel removes future posts from that channel from your feed. It has no effect on posts you’ve already shared.

Notification preferences

Go to Settings → Notifications and choose when Ambo notifies you about new content.

OptionWhen you’re notified
Directly AssignedOnly when a post variation is assigned to you by name.
Channel PostsWhen any post is published to one of your subscribed channels.
All PostsEvery time any post is published in the organization.

You can enable more than one option. For example, selecting both Directly Assigned and Channel Posts notifies you for both types.

Notifications are sent by email. If you’ve connected Slack (see below), they’re also delivered as Slack DMs.

Push notifications

Go to Settings → Notifications → Enable Push.

Your browser will ask for permission to send notifications. Once granted, Ambo sends real-time alerts when new content is available or when a share is confirmed.

To disable push notifications, return to the same settings page and turn them off, or adjust permissions directly in your browser’s site settings for Ambo.

Post approvals

If your admin assigned a variation to you with approval required, it appears in your Pending Approval tab.

  • Approve: the variation moves to your New tab and you can share it.
  • Reject: you must provide a note explaining why. Your admin is notified.

For a full walkthrough of the approval flow, see Browsing and Finding Content.
