AI Image Generation - Ambo Docs

Generate an image for a post variation with AI, choose its style and aspect ratio, and add it to the post.

Ambo can create an image for a post variation based on what the post says. You pick a style and an aspect ratio, add optional instructions, and preview the result before adding it to the post.

Generating an image

  1. Open a post from Posts, or create a new one.
  2. Write the content of the variation. Ambo needs the post text to decide what the image shows.
  3. In the variation’s editor toolbar, click the Add media button and select Generate with AI.
  4. Optionally, enter Instructions, choose a Style, and choose an Aspect ratio.
  5. Click Generate. Generating an image can take up to a minute.
  6. Review the preview. Click Regenerate to get a different image with the same settings, or Add to post to attach it.
  7. Save the post.

The generated image is added to the variation’s media, next to any images you uploaded. If you leave without saving the post, the image is not kept.

Image options

Instructions

Instructions are optional. Use them to describe what the image should show or how it should look, such as the subject, colors, composition, or mood. For example: “show a team at a whiteboard, in blue tones”.

Instructions only affect the image. They do not change the message of the post the image represents. Anything in them that isn’t about the image is ignored.

By default, generated images contain no text or logos. To include text, ask for it in the instructions and put the exact words in quotes.

Style

Aspect ratio

How Ambo picks the subject

Ambo picks one specific scene, object, or moment that the post talks about and builds the image around it. It avoids stock visual metaphors such as lightbulbs, handshakes, puzzle pieces, and rockets.

If your organization has a Brand voice set in Organization Settings, it shapes the mood of the image.

Notes

  • Generate with AI is disabled when the variation already has a video or PDF, because those can’t be combined with images. Remove the video or PDF to add a generated image.
  • Repost variations don’t support media, so the Add media button doesn’t appear on them.
  • If the post content is empty, Ambo shows “Write the post before generating an image”.
  • Image generation counts toward your organization’s daily and weekly AI limits, shared with other AI features such as Write with AI. When a limit is reached, Ambo shows an error. The limit frees up gradually as older usage drops off.
