For Advocates
Leaderboard - Ambo Docs
See how your LinkedIn shares rank against other advocates in your organization, and how admins choose the metric that sets the ranking.
The leaderboard ranks advocates in your organization by the results of their LinkedIn shares. Your admin picks the metric that decides the ranking, such as impressions or shares. You can find the leaderboard at the top of the Analytics page.
Where to find it
Go to Analytics in the sidebar. The top of the page shows two leaderboard panels:
| Panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Leaderboard | Your rank and the advocates ranked around you, with your row highlighted |
| Top Performers | The top three advocates for the selected period, shown as a podium with their score for the ranking metric |
Choose a time period
Use the time period dropdown at the top of the Analytics page to change the period. The leaderboard, Top Performers, and the rest of the page update together.
| Option | Period |
|---|---|
| Last 3 days | The past 3 days up to now |
| Last 1 week | The past 7 days up to now (default) |
| Last 1 month | The past month up to now |
| Last 3 months | The past 3 months up to now |
| Last 6 months | The past 6 months up to now |
Read the leaderboard
Each row shows the advocate’s rank, name, and their totals for five metrics. The ranking metric always appears first after the name.
| Column | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Shares | Posts the advocate shared to LinkedIn during the period |
| Impressions | Times the advocate’s shares were seen on LinkedIn |
| Reactions | Likes and other reactions on the advocate’s shares |
| Comments | Comments on the advocate’s shares |
| URL Clicks | Clicks on links in the advocate’s shares |
The Leaderboard panel shows up to 10 rows around your position. Most of the rows are advocates ranked above you, so you can see how far you are from the next spot. If you are near the top or bottom, the panel fills the extra rows from the other side.
View the full leaderboard
- In the Leaderboard panel, click View All.
- A side panel opens with every ranked advocate, 20 per page.
- Use the page controls at the bottom to move between pages. Your row is highlighted when it appears on the current page.
How ranking works
- Advocates are ranked from highest to lowest on the metric your admin selected.
- Advocates with the same total share the same rank.
- Only shares from personal LinkedIn profiles count. Shares from company pages are not included.
- Deleted shares and shares that did not post successfully are not counted.
- If you have not shared anything yet, the Leaderboard panel shows the top 9 advocates with your name in the last row.
Engagement data comes from LinkedIn and is updated daily, so new shares can take up to 24 hours to affect your rank.
Set the leaderboard metric (admins)
Admins choose the metric that ranks advocates. The setting applies to everyone in the organization.
- Go to Settings in the admin sidebar.
- Find the Leaderboard Metric section.
- Pick a metric from the dropdown.
The change saves as soon as you pick a metric, and a Leaderboard metric updated confirmation appears. If no metric has been set, Ambo ranks by Impressions.
| Metric | Use it when you want to reward |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Reach. Advocates whose shares are seen the most rank highest. |
| Shares | Activity. Advocates who share the most posts rank highest. |
| Reactions | Engagement with likes and other reactions. |
| Comments | Conversations started by advocates’ shares. |
| URL Clicks | Traffic driven to your links. |
Changing the metric re-ranks the leaderboard for all past periods too, since rankings are calculated when the page loads.
