Personal Brand Voice - Ambo Docs

Capture your writing style from your LinkedIn posts and rewrite company posts in your own voice before you share them.

Your personal brand voice is a style guide Ambo builds from your recent LinkedIn posts. Once it’s captured, you can rewrite a post in your own voice before you share it. This keeps company content sounding like you wrote it.

Prerequisite: Your LinkedIn account must be connected. Go to Advocate Settings if you haven’t done this yet.

Generating your voice

  1. Go to Settings → Personal Brand Voice.
  2. Click Generate from my LinkedIn posts.
  3. Wait while Ambo analyzes your posts. This can take up to two minutes.

When it finishes, you’ll see Your personal brand voice is captured.

Ambo reads up to your 20 most recent posts on LinkedIn. Reposts without your own text are skipped. The style guide covers things like tone, sentence length, structure, how you open and close posts, and how you use hashtags.

If you have no posts on your LinkedIn profile, generation fails. Publish a few posts on LinkedIn first, then try again.

Regenerating your voice

Your voice doesn’t update on its own. If your writing style has changed or you’ve published new posts, click Regenerate from my LinkedIn posts. Ambo replaces your old voice with a new one built from your latest posts.

Rewriting a post in your voice

When you share a post with editable content, a Rewrite in my voice button appears in the content editor toolbar. It only appears after your voice is captured.

  1. Open a post and click Share.
  2. Pick a variation if the post has more than one.
  3. Click Rewrite in my voice.
  4. Review the rewritten text and edit it if needed.
  5. Share now or schedule as usual.

The rewrite replaces the text in the content field. Nothing is posted to LinkedIn until you share.

The rewrite:

  • Keeps the original meaning and facts, and doesn’t add new information.
  • Keeps hashtags in the same position as the original, and doesn’t add new ones.
  • Changes only the post content. The first comment and media stay as they are.

If the button doesn’t appear, your admin may not have enabled editing for that post. See Sharing Content to LinkedIn.

Notes

  • The rewrite returns plain text. Text formatting and mentions from the original are not kept. Re-add them before sharing if you need them. See Post Text Formatting.
  • Check that the URL placeholder is still where you want the link to appear.

Deleting your voice

Go to Settings → Personal Brand Voice and click Delete next to Your personal brand voice is captured. The Rewrite in my voice button no longer appears until you generate a new voice.

Admins can also generate or delete a voice for you from the Users page.
